Abstract

We will analyze the Turin mathematical environment, its actions and reactions at that delicate junction, the years 1931-1938, when three vulnus were inflicted on the rule of law: the fascist loyalty oath, which all the Turin mathematicians signed, without indecisions, the affiliation to the National Fascist Party in 1933, which involved a first laceration within this community, and the racial laws, which permanently altered the Turin Mathematical School.
