The purpose of our contribution is to demonstrate that the differences between the two languages are not so much dependent on freedom as on a difference in the principles of the use of punctuation: the use is informative and textual in Italian, strictly syntactic in German. This is a profound difference, which the recent reforms in German punctuation have only affected in part. ER -
