'Reporting' on treatment and rehabilitation: a challenge of professional writing

Abstract

The essay is a reflection about professional writing and in particular about the documentation produced in the social-health sector. The authors illustrate - starting from a purely linguistic proposal centered on three lemmas (report, case, documentation) - peculiar traits of reporting a case, focusing, specifically, on the ethical implications of writing. The final part of the contribution contains a proposal to undertake a path of investigation, but also an invitation, addressed to professionals in
certain socio-health sectors, to inaugurate new forms of writing and therefore new practices of their specific reporting.
